Why we do what we do in Adult Ministry:
Discipleship is a lifelong process. We are never done growing in the word. As such we try to offer courses that prepare adults for continuing discipleship and, ultimately, for making disciples.
Aspects of Adult Ministry:
- Confidently share your faith with others
- Learning how to make disciples
- Pursuing growth in one’s spiritual relationship
- Taking the faith outside of the church walls
Regular Activities:
Bible Study Opportunities
Women’s Bible Study: Mondays at 7:00pm, led by Liz Bier. This study meets Monday nights from September to the first part of June. Most studies are topical studies related to women, our faith, and our relationships with others. Occasionally other topics are studied as well. An important part of the evening is lifting each other up in prayer. This group is currently meeting in person and over Zoom. Contact Lize Bier ( .
Wednesday Morning: 10:00am, led by Pastor Ted. This study also meets in person, as well as over Zoom. Contact Ted for the link ( ).
Coffee Break: This is a topical one-time, standalone study we offer most months. We focus on a particular life issue, and what scripture has to say about it. This study is open to people in 9th grade-adults and meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30, at the Panera on 162nd. Contact Sara ( ), or visit the church calendar for the date of the next meeting.
Other Offerings:
Small Group Studies: Throughout the year we offer an assortment of small group studies that are anywhere from 4 to 10 week long. Contact Sara ( ) for a current information on what studies are coming up.
Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University: We periodically offer this class which takes a look at biblical ways to manage the monetary blessings that God has given us. See more about this group in our Marriage & Families section.
Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML): Good Shepherd Lutheran Women in Mission became an official part of the LWML in April 2016. Our focus is on nurturing women through the Word and through fellowship with each other so that we can reach out to make a difference in the lives of others through our service and support of mission projects. We meet quarterly in January, April, July, and October, and have fellowship or service events throughout the year. If you are interested in joining or have questions, contact Liz Bier at
