Serving God
We believe everyone is called to serve, regardless of age or ability. Jesus was the ultimate example of living a life as a servant, and as followers of Jesus, we strive to serve Him through service to our church, each other, our community and the world around us!
"For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45
"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon." Isaiah 58:10
Our service opportunities are broken up into four categories:
Opportunities to serve AT Good Shepherd
As it sounds, these are ways you can serve the community that is Good Shepherd! Examples are ushering, teaching Sunday School, baking communion bread and more! See our "Serve at Good Shepherd" page to learn more.
Opportunities to serve locally
These opportunities are geographically part of our greater community. We frequently serve at places like the Oregon Food Bank, Union Gospel Mission, the WHO (Winter Hospitality Overflow), Children's Book Bank and many more. Visit the "Serve Locally" page to find out more!
Opportunities to serve globally
Sometimes it's hard to remember our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, or even other parts of the country, who may be struggling. We remember these people through various acts of service such as giving towards Mission: India, our annual Youth Mission Trip, Operation Christmas Child, Compassion International and more. Check out the "Serve Globally" page find out more!
MUsic ministries at good shepherd
A variety of opportunities exist to enhance the worship experience for our brothers and sisters in Christ! Check out the "Music Ministry at Good Shepherd" page to find out more!
